Chair Yoga is a full-bodied yoga practice adapted to a seated format, giving you the opportunity to build strength, flexibility, and balance with ease and confidence.

Through gentle flow, mindful stretching, breathwork, and alignment awareness—all supported by a chair—you’ll feel guided to listen deeply to your body and move from a place of care and strength. Chairs make each posture accessible, whether you're managing injuries, limited mobility, chronic stiffness, or simply craving a soothing but effective practice.

Open to all levels, this class encourages you to move at your pace, finding empowerment through intention, breath, and choice.

Benefits Include:

  • Improved joint mobility and muscle tone

  • Greater awareness and release of tension

  • Renewed energy and ease

  • Stress relief and grounded presence

Format:

  • Offered weekly via Zoom and in person at the Port Orange Presbyterian Church located at 4662 S. Clyde Morris Blvd.

  • Classes are generally held Mondays and Fridays at 9:30 am but since I’m a solo act, please peek at the schedule before you roll out your mat—just in case anything’s shifted!

  • All you need is a sturdy chair, your curiosity, and willingness to breathe, move, and open.

💛 A Note from Krista:

Whether I'm teaching from the chair or the mat, the heart of the practice stays the same—gentle, mindful movement that meets you where you are. Can't make Chair Yoga but prefer it? Come to Gentle Yoga and use a chair! Love your mat but can only make it to Chair class? Roll it out and make yourself at home. I'm here to support your version of the practice, whatever that looks like. All I ask is that you listen to your body, honor what you need, and don’t be afraid to do your own thing. You have permission to show up exactly as you are.

“This yoga practice is perfect for me, and it was a pleasant surprise to discover that chair yoga can be so effective.”
