Individually focused, inclusive yoga for physical, mental & spiritual joy!

Welcome! I’m Krista Oakes. I’m a certified yoga and meditation teacher (E-RYT) that specializes in working with beginners and seniors. I teach gentle yoga classes that focus on safety, proper body alignment, mindfulness and learning to trust yourself- even if you are new to yoga.

I started my journey to yoga over 17 years ago and since that time I’ve taught yoga to thousands of people up and down the east coast. I’ve also spent 30 years practicing meditation. My approach to teaching integrates Kripalu Yoga style of teaching compassion, with the mindfulness of meditation, and the awareness of nutrition, blended with personal training, and lifestyle coaching with humor sprinkled throughout!

I offer yoga and meditation classes, beach yoga, YogaWalks, integrative yoga life coaching, retreats, and women’s programs. My work has been featured in publications like Carla Magazine and on WNDB radio. I will help you feel healthy, happy, and connected while making it all purposeful, grounded and fun!

When I’m not helping people discover the magic of yoga, you can find me actively involved in the local community. I’m passionate about helping people get out and vote! I’m currently on the board of the Spruce Creek High School Band Boosters, a member of Lion’s Club, Volusia County Women Who Care and Team RWB. I also love spending time with my 2 incredible sons and extended family. My secret and occasional indulgences are traveling, exploring new places and reading a good novel while sipping coffee on the porch.

I’m so looking forward to connecting with you and sharing the gifts of yoga and mindfulness!

This class is a great opportunity to practice the serenity of yoga in a truly serene environment - the great outdoors. Being on the sand by the side of the ocean magnifies the oneness that always exists but we often fail to notice. Yoga on the beach is less about alignment and more about communing with nature and celebrating your soul. Be prepared for the elements (jacket, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, etc. as needed). Appropriate for all levels. Beach Yoga is offered monthly.

“Thank you, thank you, thank you for the yoga class on the beach!!! I could kick myself now for not doing it earlier!”
