Fear vs. Intuition: How to Tell the Difference

Have you ever had a gut feeling that was so strong you couldn't ignore it? But how do you know if that feeling is true intuition or just fear and anxiety holding you back? This can be incredibly challenging to discern, and it's something we're exploring in the Authentic Living Circle. This week, our focus is on the sixth chakra, the third eye, which is all about understanding intuition and inner knowing.

Today's tip is a simple way to help you differentiate between these two powerful emotions.

The Key Difference Between Fear & Intuition

The main distinction between intuition and fear lies in how they show up.

  • Intuition often comes in a sudden flash. It's a quick, clear sense that appears in a moment. It's not a thought you mull over or a feeling you worry about; it just appears and you know. Just as easily, it can leave, but the message itself is a clear, concise knowing.

  • Fear and anxiety, on the other hand, tend to linger. They are often accompanied by worry, overthinking, and a feeling of being stuck or held back. Fear doesn't just flash and disappear; it stays and creates a sense of unease that you can dwell on for a long time.

So, the next time you're at a crossroads and need to discern whether a message is fear steering you away from something or your intuition guiding you, take a moment to pause and listen. Notice how that message came to you. Did it arrive as a quick, clear insight, or is it a persistent feeling of worry and anxiety?

It's not always easy to distinguish between the two, but by taking a moment to listen and observe, you can gain clarity on which direction to go. I hope this helps you the next time you're faced with a big decision. Listen and be guided.

Namaste.
