Have you ever thought about how going to gentle yoga class and going to the bank might be similar? At first, it may sound like a riddle, but the connection is actually very real. When you go to the bank, you make deposits. You put money into your account so it is there when you need it later.
Too Many Tabs Open? Try One Thing at a Time
Have you ever looked at your computer and realized you have more tabs open than you thought?
That happened to me recently while I was setting up for an online yoga class. I usually have my Zoom screen open, but for some reason I hit a button and suddenly every tab that was open on my computer showed up on the screen.
And I was mortified.
There they were: all the tabs, all the reminders, all the things I had been moving between. But it also made me laugh, because it was such a clear picture of what my mind can feel like sometimes.
Busy. Full. Jumping from one thing to the next.
Just like a computer with too many tabs open.
Shoulder Pain and Yoga: How to Keep Moving with Care
If you have been dealing with shoulder pain or a rotator cuff injury, it can be tempting to think, "I can't do yoga right now."
Maybe lifting your arm overhead does not feel possible. Maybe certain movements feel limited. Maybe you are afraid that if one part of your body is hurting, movement is simply off the table.
But with your doctor's permission, gentle yoga and mindful movement can still be supportive. The goal is not to force your shoulder to do something it is not ready for. The goal is to move with awareness, modify when needed, and stay connected to your body.
When Foot Pain Makes You Want to Stay Home
When foot pain flares up, it can be tempting to avoid movement altogether. If you have been hesitating to come to yoga because your feet are bothering you, you are not alone. This is a common concern, especially when discomfort starts affecting how steady, comfortable, and confident you feel in your body.
The good news is that gentle, mindful movement can still be supportive. With the right care, the right pace, and guidance that honors your body, movement may help you feel more comfortable instead of more limited.

Even simple movements can start to feel intimidating when discomfort is running down the leg or creating tension through the hips and low back.

This week, I want to share three simple stretches that may help create more space in the body when sciatica is flaring up.when discomfort is running down the leg or creating tension through the hips and low back.

Back Pain and Yoga: A Gentle Way to Keep Moving
If you have ever woken up with a stiff, sore back, you know how quickly it can affect your day. And if you are dealing with something more significant in your back, it can be tempting to avoid movement altogether. That instinct makes sense. When something hurts, we often want to protect it. But sometimes, with your doctor’s permission, gentle and mindful movement can offer the support your body is asking for. This week, I want to share one simple reminder: movement and yoga can support your back when practiced with care.

Stop Waiting for the "Perfect Time" (The Myth of the Moved Obstacle)
How many times have you said to yourself, "I’ll start taking care of myself as soon as this one thing is resolved"?
Today’s message is simple but urgent: Don't wait. We often convince ourselves that once a specific "rock in the road" is moved—once the big project is done, the injury is healed, or the kids are back in school—we will finally have the time or energy to sign up for that yoga class or start a meditation habit. But the truth is, as soon as one rock is moved, another one usually takes its place. Life is a roller coaster of ups and downs—that is simply the nature of being alive.
The Resilience Trap
We often treat self-care like a reward for when life is finally "easy." We think we need to wait for the "up" part of the roller coaster to practice mindfulness.
In reality, we need these tools most when the roller coaster is dipping down. Self-care isn't the prize at the finish line; it’s the fuel that helps you run the race. It is the foundation that makes you resilient when life feels heavy. If you wait for the path to be perfectly clear, you might be waiting forever.
Your Practice This Week
I invite you to stop negotiating with your well-being. Try these three steps to break the cycle of "waiting":
Identify your "When/Then": Notice if you are saying, "When [X] happens, then I'll start [Y]." Recognizing this pattern is the first step to breaking it.
Do the thing now: Don't wait for a 60-minute window. Whether it’s five minutes of deep breathing, a short stretch in a chair, or finally clicking "register" for that class—start today.
Get Support: Don't try to move the rocks alone. Find the tools and the community that help you stay grounded regardless of the obstacles in your path.
Who needs to hear this today? If you know someone who is waiting for the "perfect time" to prioritize themselves, please share this post with them.
I hope you have a beautiful, "do-it-now" kind of day. Namaste.
